On August 2006 deadline day, West Ham signed Štěch from Sparta Prague for an undisclosed fee.[1]
He has made two friendly appearances for Hammers against Peterborough United in a 2–0 win where he came on as a substitute and he played a full 90 minutes against Southampton in a 2–2 draw.
On 12 March 2009, Štěch signed on loan for Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the season.[2] Štěch made his debut for Wycombe on 14 March in a 3–3 away draw against Brentford.[3] However, a groin and hip injury sustained in training limited him to just two appearances for Wycombe before returning to West Ham for treatment
At the beginning of the 09–10 season, Štěch was handed the No. 34 shirt, however, before making any appearance for the senior team, that number was taken by Oliver Lee in a League Cup match against arch rivals Millwall.

Štěch has been capped at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level for the Czech Republic. He made his Under-21 debut on 3 March 2010 in a 1-0 win against Finland. [9]
